Kashmir: On April 21, 2016, two unrecognized militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, said the army officer.

An Army officer said, “Acting on specific information about the presence of militants in Putshai area of Lolab in the district, security forces cordoned off the area and began a search operation on Thursday, today".

He further aforesaid-as the search operation was going on, militants who were hiding their fired upon the forces resulting in a gun battle.

As per the official , “Two militants have been killed in the operation so far.

He said, “the identity of the slain militants could not be immediately ascertained”
