Kathak Marvels: Dr. Ashish Pillai, Harshita Pahwa Shine at Dakshinamurthy Festival in Kerala

THRISSHUR: Dr. Ashish Pillai and his student Harshita Pahwa performs at 11th Dakshinamurthy International dance and music festival at Shri Vishnumaya Devasthanam, Thrisshur Kerala. The duo performed Kathak danceat sangeetha madapam of the temple . This is a month long event which started on 1st of December and artist from around the globe are presenting the art. This year International drummer sivamani, Anuradha Paudwal and danseuse chithra vishweshwaran are lined up for performances. 

Ashish Pillai presented Taal Pancham sawari to begin with his performance, followed by duet dance Shiv tandav penned by Dr Puru Dadheech and Kali Dhrupad. Pillai closed his performance with Dashavtar of Lord Krishna mentioned in Jaydeva's ashtapadi. Dr. Ashis Pillai was felicitated by temple head Shri Unni Damodaran Swami ji. 
The 40minute long was well received and praised by all devotees. Ashish Pillai is the director of indore based Bharatnatyam, Kathak Training center Drupad Dance Academy and is a disciple of Dr. Puru Dadheech ji.

Dr. Ashish Pillai and his student, Harshita Pahwa, delivered a captivating Kathak dance performance at the 11th Dakshinamurthy International Dance & Music Festival in Kerala's Shri Vishnumaya Devasthanam. Their 40-minute performance featured various classical pieces and received acclaim from attendees. Dr. Pillai, the director of the Drupad Dance Academy in Indore, showcased his expertise in the art, earning recognition from temple head Shri Unni Damodaran Swami ji amidst the month-long festival that hosts artists from across the globe.
