Railway officer Deshbandhu Pandey was very happy to sit in the hot seat before Amitabh Bachchan in the popular television reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati but he did not know what he would have to face when he returned home. Deshbandhu Pandey, who is posted as office superintendent of the local procurement section of Kota Railway Division of Rajasthan, has not only been handed over the chargesheet by the railway administration but his increment has also been banned for 3 years. He has been accused of missing from the office without informing and participating in the KBC.

According to the report received, the charge sheet says that you disappeared from 9th to 13th August without sanctioning leave, your behavior shows negligence towards work. In that case, you should be taken to action. Deshbandhu had also won an amount of Rs.3.20 lakhs in KBC. However, as soon as he returned from Mumbai, the railway administration severely punished him and he has been given a re-chargesheet and the increment for 3 years has also been banned.

The same Pandey episode aired on August 26 and 27 and answered a total of 10 questions correctly. Deshbandhu has not made any statement at present since strict action by the Railway administration. Deshbandhu had arrived in KCB on the 25th anniversary of his marriage. Such action has been opposed by the employees' organizations on behalf of the Railway administration. West Central Railway Trade Union Divisional Secretary Khalid has said that the railway administration has not corrected Pandey and a case will be persisted against him.
