New Delhi [India], Feb 3: Indian spinners were clinical in their performance during the first ODI of the six-match series against South Africa as India beat the hosts by six wickets to take the 1-0 lead in Durban on Thursday. While the wrist spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets between them and gave away just 79 runs in 20 overs, part-times Kedar Jadhav too chipped in with three overs giving away 19 runs for no wicket. Nonetheless, the bowling did their job as they restricted Proteas on a sub-par score of 269/8 in 50 overs.  

After the match, wishes poured in for the Indian team as they put up a stellar show to win an ODI in South Africa after seven years and Kedar Jadhav too praised the top performers but Yuzvendra Chahal took a subtle dig at him about his unique bowling action. Already 1-0 up in the series, India will now take South Africa in the second ODI on Sunday at Centurion with an aim to double their lead. South Africa, on the other hand, would be wary of their middle-order which looks fragile without AB de Villiers, who has been ruled out of the first three ODIs.
