New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has surrounded the central government on the issue of postponement of MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) elections. He has requested PM Narendra Modi that the MCD elections should not be postponed. Kejriwal also attacked the Election Commission and asked how the officers agreed to postpone the election in an hour.

Let us tell you that on the 9th, the Delhi Election Commission had issued a press release. The dates for the MCD elections were to be announced that day at 5 pm. But then the Election Commission said that the Center is considering to merge the three corporations, due to which the dates of the elections will not be announced yet. On this, Kejriwal said that the central government wrote a letter to the Election Commission at 4 o'clock that we are going to make all the three municipal corporations of Delhi into one municipal corporation. Elections should not be announced.

Kejriwal said that this is the first time in 75 years that the central government has written a letter to the Election Commission of a state asking them to postpone the elections. Chief Minister Kejriwal said that for 8 years, there is a Bharatiya Janata Party government in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. If they had to unite all the three MCDs, then why didn't they do it till now. Why was this remembered only an hour before the announcement of the election dates? Kejriwal said, 'People are saying that uniting MCD is an excuse, the purpose was to postpone the elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party feared that it would be swept away by the wave of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). People are also saying that what does elections have to do with uniting the corporation. Let the election happen. If we unite the corporations as well, then the three mayors who are now sitting separately, then all the three mayors will start sitting in one place. The new councilors will sit separately now and together later.
