New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met senior Congress leader and former finance minister P. Chidambaram at his house. Kejriwal expressed grattitude towards him for representing the Aam Aadmi Party government as one of its counsel in the Arvind Kejriwal vs L-G case in the Top Court.

 The supreme court on Wednesday in its verdict ruled in favor of AAP-led Delhi government in the harsh power tussle between the Delhi CM and Delhi Lieutenant Governor.

Admiring ruling of SC, Chidambaram in a series of tweets raised some questions about power clash between the Delhi government and L-G's office. He asserted that the whole hullabaloo was BJP and central government's making.

"Thumping victory for representative democracy. I welcome SC judgement in the Delhi Govt vs LG case. Why did the LG (with a fine track record) allow himself to be misdirected in law by his political masters? Whoever in the Central Govt was responsible for triggering the legal battle should own responsibility, but nobody will. The present controversy was manufactured by the BJP and the central government. Now, happily resolved by the Constitutional Court," Chidambaram wrote in his Twitter handle after SC's decision.

Yesterday The SC in its ruling said that no independent authority has been conferred with Delhi L-G by the constitution to take independent decisions.

SC ruled that L-G cannot act independently and has to work cordially with the elected representatives for a smooth functioning of the state affairs.
