New Delhi: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at PM's official residence in New Delhi.

The Chief Minister's Office released photographs of the meeting.

The Kerala chief minister is in New Delhi to attend the politburo meeting of the CPM, which is being held in Delhi today. 

The Kerala government made the decision to file a petition with the Supreme Court asking for a modification to the ruling requiring them to keep a one-kilometer buffer zone around all national parks and forests.

The idea to demarcate the one-kilometer buffer zone next to protected areas has sparked massive protests in Kerala's forest-neighboring communities. PM Modi and CM Vijayan are anticipated to talk about the matter.

During a CP(M) state committee meeting, P Jayarajan, a member of the committee, levelled allegations of  nepotism, corruption and financial irregularities against Left Democratic Front (LDF) convener EP Jayarajan.
