Kochi: Data on deaths due to corona infection in Kerala's local bodies and health ministry data have raised doubts. According to data received through RTI on Covid's deaths, the figure from 404 covid deaths in a month has increased to more than 10,000 deaths. Within three months, there has been a jump of more than 2000 percent.

However, health department data said the situation is largely under control. According to media reports, the official death toll in Kerala during the second wave between March and May was 4500, but the death registration figures show 12,500, almost three times more than the health department's figures. Kerala saw a surprising difference in the number of covid-19 deaths in April and May. Registration data shows that 1554 and 10602 deaths were reported in Kerala in April and May respectively. The health department data reported that the deaths were 687 and 3507 respectively.

Between April and May, corona's caseload had increased from 4 million to 9 million. The health department of Kerala, disturbed by the uncontrolled boom, also forgot the count of deaths. There is a difference of about 7095 deaths in the official data of the Health Department.
