THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Health Minister Veena George said there was no reason to be concerned over rising coronavirus cases in three districts across the state. Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, and Ernakulam are the three districts. The Omicron variant was reported in these cases.

Health Minster reassured the public that the state's health services are more than capable of mitigating the recent spike in coronavirus cases, and she urged citizens to do their part by wearing masks. She also urged individuals who had not yet received the vaccine shot to do so as soon as possible. The quick drop in coronavirus infections earlier this year had deterred a few people from getting the vaccine, she said.

"It's been reported that people who haven't been vaccinated have a higher rate of coronavirus mortality," Health Minister said. Fieldworkers will be sent to these three areas to prepare a list of those who have not yet received coronavirus vaccinations. In addition to the initial two doses, the minister ordered that healthcare personnel be given a prophylactic dose. She also asked people in the three areas where a coronavirus outbreak has been reported to get their samples tested.
