Kottayam: Former minister and Adv MP Govindan Nair died on Wednesday morning at his home in Muttambalam, Kottayam. For a long time, he had been living a retired life. Nair died of age-related problems at his home in this city.
From 2012 until 2015, he was the Minister of Health in R Sankar's cabinet and the Travancore Devaswom board president. Govindan Nair served as the president of the Kottayam DCC, a member of the KPCC, AICC, NSS, and the head of a philanthropic organisation.
Sarada Devi, the daughter of Godavarma Raja of Poonjar Palace, married MP Govindan. Sudha, his daughter, survives him. On Thursday, there will be a funeral.
