Sandeep Nair and Swapna Suresh, accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, have been sent for judicial custody till August 21. Both these accused will be tested first corona and after that, both the accused are going to be kept in Ernakulam District jail.

The gold smuggling case of Kerala is very much discussed, it is because the connection of accused Swapna Suresh has been told to CM P Vijayan. In this case, she is not the only one, as well as the driver and peon of Chief Minister P. Vijayan. The Central Government and Home Minister Amit Shah have been warned several times on behalf of the Governor. After this, Home Minister Amit Shah handed over the investigation of this case to NIA and ordered to find out about this case related to terrorism. After which the information of an accused in the case related to the Terror funding has come out in the NIA report. According to the report, KT Rameez, an accused in the smuggling case, is an essential link in funding anti-India activities in the South.

The entire case is about stealing 30 kilos of gold from a diplomatic cargo with the address of the UAE in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. It was also claimed that in relation to the cargo, Swapna Suresh had approached the officer of the airport. The high-profile diplomat of the UAE Consulate General's office, Rashid Khamis Al Shamli, was reportedly contacted. The price of smuggled gold is said to be Rs 15 crore.
