Kochi: A senior official of the Government of K. Ral has said that the state will create 2million jobs under an ambitious mission in the coming five years. Dr. K.M. Abraham, Chief Principal Secretary, CM Pinarayi Vijayan, has said that according to the decision taken at the first cabinet meeting after this government came to power, a strategic letter was prepared to build a knowledge society.

Talking to the media earlier this week, he said that the government's "Kerala Knowledge-Economy Mission" aims to provide skill training to students in higher education institutions and make them adapt to the changing times. Abraham said the scheme will cover people who lose their jobs abroad, complete their studies and are not able to get jobs and drop out of school.

According to him, the project is expected to cost around Rs 6,000 crores in five years. A Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS) will be set up as part of the "Kerala Knowledge-Economy Mission." It will be a big platform that will include employers, job seekers, and a variety of trainers. In the private sector, huge employment platforms such as http://Monster.com and http://Freelancer.com are already operating internationally. Kerala will seek the help and cooperation of such global agencies for a new employment platform."
