Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala designated 551 dedicated vaccination centres for teenagers as India began inoculating children between the ages of 15 and 18 on Monday.
State Health Minister Veena George, speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram, said, "551 of the 1426 total immunisation centres are dedicated solely to children. Children will be given Covaxin doses, and we have installed a pink board outside all of the exclusive children's centres. In the state, about 15 lakh youngsters are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations."
She went on to say that the state plans to conclude vaccinations for children in the next ten days, and that the Center has delivered 5 lakh vaccine doses the night before, with more than 1.40 lakh doses due today.
In the case of Omicron, the Minister of Health stated, "In the state of California, 152 cases of the novel COVID-19 strain have been reported. There are 50 cases from low-risk nations, 84 cases from high-risk countries, and 18 cases from primary contacts among the 152 cases."
The United Kingdom, various European nations, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Ghana, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Hong Kong, and Israel are currently on the list of 'at-risk' countries for the Covid-19 Omicron variant.
