Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Assembly's one-month budget session will begin on Friday with Governor Arif Mohammed Khan's policy address.

Assembly Speaker M B Rajesh said on Wednesday that the 15th Assembly's fourth session will begin on February 18 and that Finance Minister K N Balagopal will propose the budget on March 11.

On February 21, the House would pay tribute to late Thrikkakkara MLA P T Thomas, who died of cancer lately, and there would be no other business, he told reporters while summarising the upcoming session's events.

The motion of thanks on the Governor's address would be heard in the Assembly for three days starting February 22. He said, though, that there will be no session from February 25 to March 10. "On March 11, Finance Minister K N Balagopal will deliver the budget and related documents for the fiscal year 2022-23 to the House. On March 14, 15, and 16, there will be a general budget discussion "announced the Speaker.
