Kerala: Two youths arrested for possessing drugs

KOCHI: Two youth were arrested in Kerala on Saturday after an accident inquiry led to their detention under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) and for drug use.

According to police, a 40-year-old labourer was killed in a traffic accident here on Thursday night after two car-borne youngsters, Jithin and Sony, collided with him. After that, the car collided with another vehicle. When police searched the vehicle, they discovered MDMA and ganja.

They also found a girl's school uniform, and after much interrogation, the duo admitted that there were two girls in the car who fled shortly after the accident.

The police found that the two had drugged the girls and misbehaved with them throughout their inquiry. Police have also filed a complaint under the Pocso Act.
