Chennai: After an argument with two bar employees over getting a drink, a 24-year-old man was fatally hit with a log on his head by two bar staff, police said on Saturday. They said that the duo had been apprehended. On Friday, the youth went to the bar before it opened and placed an order for a drink. He tried to hit two staff there with stones and caused a fuss when they informed he could only obtain the drink at noon when the liquor outlet opened.

The duo slammed the man with wood. His father eventually arrived and drove him home. Soon after, the man became immobile, prompting his father to call for an ambulance. The medical staff in the ambulance confirmed him dead after evaluating him. The two bartenders were apprehended by police and brought before a court, where they were remanded in judicial detention.
