Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari is staying strong at the Box-office. The film picked up momentum on its second Saturday as the film added Rs 6.45 crore more to its kitty. Kesari, upon its release on March 21, received mixed reviews from movie critics. But thankfully, the word of mouth has been largely in its favour, something that has helped its survival at ticket windows After a 10-day run in cinemas, the total collection of the war drama stands at Rs 116.76 crore, which is absolutely fantastic.

Noted Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on Sunday, wrote on Twitter that North India was contributing majorly to the business of Kesari. He also said that if the film continued to “trend strongly.  Sharing the collections of the film, Adarsh’s wrote, “#Kesari picks up momentum on [second] Sat... North India leads, while other circuits are back on track... ₹ 150 cr is within reach, if it continues to trend strongly on subsequent days... [Week 2] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 6.45 cr. Total: ₹ 116.76 cr. India biz.” With this development, it has gone past the lifetime business of Akshay’s 2014 release, the AR Murugadoss-directed Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (Rs 112.45 crore).

 Kesari has been directed by Anurag Singh, who is best known for his work in the Punjabi film industry. His notable works include the Jatt & Juliet series, Disco Singh and Punjab 1984, all of which were headlined by Diljit Dosanjh.
