Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav has taken the first dose of corona vaccine. UP deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has taken a dig at Mulayam for getting the vaccine. Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted, "Thank you SP patron and former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for getting the indigenous vaccine. Your vaccination is proof that rumours about the vaccine were spread by SP national president Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh should apologise for this".
Mulayam Singh Yadav, 81, took the first dose of the vaccine at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on Monday. Interestingly, his son and SP national president Akhilesh Yadav has been consistently opposing the corona vaccine. Akhilesh had said that he would not get the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vaccine done. On January 2 this year, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav had said, "I am not getting vaccinated at the moment. How can I trust the BJP's vaccine, when our government is formed, everyone will get a free vaccine. We cannot get the BJP's vaccine done".
Akhilesh's statement was had a lot of uproar on social media. Reminding him of the same, deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has now asked Akhilesh to apologise.
