Kia Carens owners might be a part of a voluntary recall over airbag issue

In order to investigate a potential problem with the airbag control module software, Kia India said on Tuesday that it is recalling 44,174 units of its newest model, the Carens. If any mistakes are discovered during the inspection, the business will provide a free software upgrade to correct them. To alert them about this voluntary recall action, the carmaker will immediately begin contacting the owners of the affected vehicles.

Owners of the recalled Carens vehicles will need to contact their local Kia authorized dealers to make an appointment after learning about the recall. The model was introduced by the company in February of this year in both six- and seven-seat variations. The model uses a variety of powertrain options that are the same as those found in Kia Seltos.

Owners of the recalled Carens vehicles will need to contact their local Kia authorized dealers to make an appointment after learning about the recall. The model was introduced by the company in February of this year in both six- and seven-seat variations. The model uses a variety of powertrain options that are the same as those found in Kia Seltos.

It has a 1.4-liter GDI petrol engine that produces 140 PS, and it comes with a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT. Additionally, a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with naturally aspirated combustion produces 115 PS of power. The 6-speed manual gearbox that this engine is connected to.

A 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine is an additional choice. This engine will be paired with either a 6-speed AT or 6-speed MT gearbox. A maximum power output of 115 PS is possible from this engine.

The top-of-the-line Kia Carens model has six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, disc brakes on all four wheels, ESC, ABS, and downhill brake control as well as other safety features.

A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Bose surround sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, and a sunroof are just a few of the comfort elements available inside the Carens. Additionally, it has front ventilated seats, an air purifier, and one-touch reclining for passengers in the second row.
