TVS scooters saw 39% more sales in September, raising expectations for a successful holiday season

According to a statement from TVS Motor Company, the scooter segment had a staggering 39 per cent surge in sales in September, with 144,356 units sold as opposed to 104,091 units in September 2021. The domestic two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturing company also reported a 2% increase in sales for motorcycles last month, with 169,322 units sold as opposed to 166,046 units in September 2021.

With 361,729 units sold in September 2022 compared to 332,511 units sold in the same month a year prior, the company's overall two-wheeler business saw a growth of 9%. With 283,878 units sold in September 2022, domestic two-wheeler sales increased by 16% from the 244,084 units sold in the same month a year earlier.

In September 2022, the firm sold 4,923 TVS iQube electric scooters, compared to 766 in September 2021. The two-wheeler company thinks that the holiday season is off to a strong start and that demand will only grow throughout the period.

In addition to domestic sales, the company's overseas two-wheeler business also experienced a little decline, with 77,851 units sold in the most recent month as opposed to 88,427 units in the same month a year before. According to TVS Motor Company, sales momentum will continue to increase despite the ongoing economic recession and higher inflation rates, especially during the holiday season, supported by the customers' upbeat attitudes.

The company's quarterly sales results were also made public by TVS. Two-wheeler sales increased by 12% in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, from July to September, to 9.77 lakh units, compared to 8.70 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous fiscal year quarter FY21-22.
