Andhra Pradesh: Kidambi Srikanth Takes Charge As Deputy Collector

Ace badminton titleholder Kidambi Srikanth will now be seen executing new responsibilities, off the court and on a Deputy Collector's chair. On Wednesday, Srikanth, a Padma Shri awardee formally took charge as Deputy Collector in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur.  

Srikanth proffered his joining report to Guntur collector Kona Shashidha. He then took the formal charge of the post. Worth mentioning here, even though he is not required to attend office every day and will remain to live train at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad.

The recently appointed deputy collector additionally went to thank the chief minister in Amaravati alongside his badminton mentor Pullela Gopichand. Srikanth's sibling Nandagopal Kidambi is likewise a shuttler train along with Srikanth at the Hyderabad academy. It was a proud moment for Srikanth's dad KVS Krishna to see his child assume responsibility in their native area.

Earlier, CM N. Chandrababu Naidu had assured Srikanth a government job after he won the title at the Indonesian Championship in June last year.

In the wake of being selected as the Deputy Collector, Srikanth said, "I am happy to serve the public from my native place. As of now I want to focus on my game, but will try to understand the responsibilities of the Deputy Collector post and do justice to it"
