Today is the birthday of Yash Chopra, owner of Bollywood's famous production company Yash Raj Films. Yash Chopra was born on 27 September 1932 in Lahore and was the youngest of eight children. While there, he studied in Lahore. After that in 1945, his family settled in Ludhiana in Punjab and Yash Chopra came to Bombay with the desire to become an engineer. At the same time, he was going to London to study engineering but Yash Chopra started his career as an assistant director with elder brothers BR Chopra and IS Johar.
At the same time, in the year 1959, he directed the first film 'Dhul Ka Phool' and made 'Dharmaputra' in 1961 and multistarrer film 'Waqt' in 1965. In 1973, he founded the production company Yash Raj Films and in the days of the struggle many artists refused to take wages from him, but Yash Chopra gave them full money. It is said that Yash Chopra gave many stars stardom status from his films. In which, in the year 1975, from the film 'Deewar', he enhanced the image of megastar Amitabh Bachchan's 'Angry Young Man'. At the same time, Yash Chopra gave opportunities in the industry to new directors and stars from his production company which became a hit. It is said that Yash Chopra is called the magician of romantic films and Yash Chopra's elder son Aditya Chopra is also a director. Yash Chopra's younger son Uday Chopra is a Bollywood actor and he has also acted in many films. He was awarded the 'Dadasaheb Phalke Award', India's highest cinema honour in 2001 for his outstanding contribution to Hindi cinema and Switzerland was his favourite destination for shooting films.

Yash made five films with Amitabh Bachchan's in lead role Deewar (1975), Kabhi Kabhi (1976), Trishul (1978), Kala Patthar (1979), Silsila (1981). At the same time, he made successful films with Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan as director 'Der', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Veer Zara' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' which became a hit. Let us tell you that in his last days he directed 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and he died on 21 October at the age of 80.
