New Delhi. KL Rahul has set a big record. Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Rahul has set the record in the IPL 2021 match. He has become the fastest Indian to score 5,000 runs, having achieved the feat in just 143 innings. Rahul has surpassed Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in this regard.

KL Rahul, however, managed to score just 4 runs in the match. He has scored 5003 runs in 143 innings. The average is 42 and the strike rate is 138. He has scored 4 centuries and 41 fifties. Rahul has scored centuries in both international and T20 leagues. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, has not scored a century in the International T20 so far.  However, his team has not got off to a good start in IPL the current season of IPL. The team has won only one in 3 matches. The fourth match is going on against Hyderabad.

Chris Gayle leads the record for the fastest 5,000 runs in overall T20Is. He did it in 132 innings. Rahul surpasses Australia's, Shaun Marsh. He did so in 144 innings. Rahul overall has come second. Virat Kohli has achieved the feat in 167 innings while Rohit Sharma has achieved the feat in 188 innings.
