The scheme for brides from the lower income group to get 1 tola (10 gram) of gold during their marriage was introduced last year by the Sarbananda led Assam government. The government has allocated INR 300 crore for this scheme.

The applicant should submit the filled up application along with the Marriage application in the office of the Marriage officer where the registration of marriage is applied for, online form has to be submitted by the girl at the link revenueassam.nic.in, signed declaration form obtained during online submission has to be submitted physically along with the other required certificates to the Marriage Registration Officer. SMS and email will be used to inform about acceptance or rejection of the form, if accepted the amount shall be transferred to the Bank account through DBT mode.
