Here to be noted that the Indian Premier League 2019 season kicks off with a big clash between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday and fans are already rushing to book their tickets for the season 12 to catch their favourite teams in action. The tournament begins on March 23 and will be played entirely in India despite the Lok Sabha polls taking place at the same time.

While it was suggested that the BCCI might do away with the home-away fixture in order to have optimum security arrangements for the matches during the elections, the eventual league-phase schedule came with all home matches being set up at home venues. As per the designed format, every franchise will face the other franchises twice before the start of the playoffs stage. The top four teams from the league stage will then be involved in a different structural battle to make it to the final. The top two teams from the league stage will face each other in the first Qualifying match, the winner of which will go straight into the final. There will then be the Eliminator 1 which will take place between the sides which finished third and fourth. The winner of Eliminator 1 will face the side which was defeated in the Qualifier in the Eliminator 2 where the second finalist will be decided.
