Coffee, most amazing beverages one can add filled with antioxidants and necessary nutrients, has been associated with a wide range of health advantages, from increasing energy levels to lowering the risk of several diseases

With  a recent research advises that drinking coffee about three to four cups a day may have some health benefits, indicating that moderate intake of coffee is safe. A review of more than 200 studies revealed that drinking coffee consumption was more often linked to benefit than harm.

The University of Southampton researchers collected observational data on the impact of coffee on all aspects of the human body, the BBC announced on Thursday. The research found that those who drank about three cups of coffee a day seemed to reduce their risk of getting heart problems or dying from them compared with non-coffee drinkers. The strongest advantages of coffee consumption were seen in reduced risks of liver disease, including cancer.

But Paul Roderick, co-author of the research, from the faculty of medicine at the University of Southampton, told the review could not say if coffee intake had made the difference. "Factors such as age, whether people smoked or not and how much exercise they took could all have had an effect," the BBC cited Roderick as saying.

"There is a balance of risks in life, and the advantages of moderate consumption of coffee seem to outweigh the risks," he told. The researchers state coffee drinkers should stick to "healthy coffees" - which elude extra sugar, milk or cream, or a fatty snack on the side. The UK'S National Health Services, however, recommends pregnant women have no more than 200mg of caffeine a day - two mugs of instant coffee - because too much can increase the risk of miscarriage.
