New Delhi: Amidst the corona epidemic, the Modi government has gifted Diwali bonus to central employees on Wednesday. The government has announced a bonus for more than 30 lakh employees. After the cabinet meeting, the government has announced it. The government says that the employees will be given a bonus before Dussehra.
2,791 crore as productivity linked incentive bonus, Rs. 906 crore has been allocated as a non-productivity linked bonus. However, the amount of bonus to which employee will be given will depend on the post and salary structure. After the meeting, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "A bonus of Rs. 3737 crore will be provided to 30 lakh non-gadget employees of the central government till Vijaydashmi or Durga Puja, the same will increase the demand in the market and the middle-class money in the festival season.
The employees belonging to the commercial establishment of the government would be directly benefited. That is, the employees of Indian Railways, post office, defence production, Employees' Provident Fund organisation, Employment State Insurance Corporation, who are on the non-gadgets post. The Government has also made it clear that the bonus will come directly to their bank account to the employees. The process of direct benefit transfer (DBT) will be adopted.
