Kohima: Neiphiu Rio formed his Govt in Nagaland's Kohima as he sworn in as Nagaland CM .

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS Home Kiren Rijiju, BJP President Amit Shah and BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav were present at the oath ceremony of Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio in Kohima.

CM of Manipur N Biren Singh, CM of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu, CM of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and CM of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma were also present at the oath ceremony of Nagaland CM.

The Senior Leader of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Neiphiu Rio was on Tuesday appointed the new chief minister of Nagaland by Governor P.B. Acharya .today he sworn in along with 11 cabinet ministers at a Raj Bhavan, official said.

Born 11 November 1950 Neiphiu Rio is an Indian politician. He was the Chief Minister of Nagaland for three terms 2003–08, 2008–13 and 2013–14, He is the only Nagaland Chief Minister who has served three consecutive terms. He is a Member of Parliament from Nagaland in Lok Sabha.

 Governor Acharya, in a letter to Rio, asked him to confirm his majority on the floor of the house on or before 16 March. The governor also said that he had received letters of support in Rio’s favor from 12 legislators of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one letter from the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) and another from an independent MLA, besides the 18 legislatures of the NDPP.

Union minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with BJP general secretary Arun Singh and state BJP president Visasolie Lhoungu visited the governor earlier on Tuesday and submitted a letter of support to   Neiphiu Rio with the signatures of all 12 BJP MLAs.
