Team India's captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday recalled the 2014 Adelaide Test match played against Australia, in which Team India was defeated. This Test match will always be considered a milestone in Indian cricket history. In the first Test match played in Adelaide from 9–13 December 2014, Team India gave a tough fight to the Australian team led by Michael Clarke and was denied victory in the close match. In both innings of this test, Virat Kohli scored a century from India.

Virat Kohli said that although we could not win this Test, it taught that if we put everything in our way then anything is possible because we are dedicated to do something which is very difficult to start. Virat said that we had almost won this match. We were all dedicated to this. As a test team it will be a milestone in our journey.

Australia cricket team, batting first in this test, declared the first innings for 517 runs at the loss of seven wickets. David Warner, Michael Clarke and Steve Smith scored centuries on his behalf. In response, Hindustan scored 444 runs in the first innings thanks to Virat Kohli's 115 runs.

In this way, Australia got a strong lead of 73 runs on the basis of first innings. In the second innings, he had declared an innings of 290 runs for five wickets. In this way, a target of 364 runs for victory in front of Hindustan. Chasing the target in the fourth innings was reduced to 315 runs and lost the Test by a close margin of 48 runs. In the second innings of this match, Kohli played a century. He scored 141 runs. Apart from him, Murali Vijay had scored 99 runs.
