It has been looked forward as a great asset that how the current Indian test captain has been performing on will for the nation in the longer format of the game. The year 2016 has been great for the Legendary King Kohli in all formats but the challenge to increase his average from 44 to 50 was something unique to look forward when the season for the longer format began. The consistency champion didn’t make it go easily and proved that he has been as good in the longer format of the game as the others and scored 3 double centuries in the whole test season of 2016.

However, this may be the beginning of the glimpses we are seeing in the context of the present Indian test captain. There is no doubt that the Indian captain has the form to perform at will and make matches win for the country thereby his performance with consistency would be the key for the future performances for India.  

There is clarified information that India would play 1 test match with Bangladesh in 2017 and then they would move forward against Australia for 4 test matches where Indian captain needs to be at his best as there are also old scores to settle especially in context of the challenge between Steve Smith and Virat Kohli thus it would be nice to look how the captain of India performs and his contribution would be the key to Indian success in future also.

All in all, we need to look forward how Virat continues to control his consistency and help India win more matches in future, Till then lets's hope that he continues to stay fit and continues to tumble records as he has done in 2016 at will indeed...
