Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court has strongly shown the killing of animals including cows and the sale of their meat. The High Court has directed the Kolkata Municipal Corporation to strictly implement measures to prevent the illegal slaughter of cattle and the sale of meat. While hearing public interest litigation, T. B. Radhakrishnan. These directions were given by a bench of Radhakrishnan and Justice Arijit Banerjee.
According to the media report, the High Court directed the corporation officials to take action against unauthorized or uncontrolled cutting of cattle including cows and thereafter meat sellers. For this, the bench has asked for strict implementation of those measures which have been mentioned by the corporation in the affidavit filed before the court. On 6 January 2021, the court directed the corporation's commissioner to file an affidavit in this regard.
In the PIL it was said that on cattle and other occasions, cattle and other cattle are cut on a large scale without following the laws. Filing the affidavit, the corporation detailed to the court what action it is taking in such a situation and how to deal with the situation.
