Kolkata: Kolkata Police is running a continuous campaign against illegal hookah bars in the surrounding areas including Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Kolkata Police Headquarters Lalbazar has become active after the order of Metropolitan Firhad Hakim. Checking is going on in hookah parlors across the city. Police raids have been going on ever since the Kolkata Municipal Corporation banned the sale and consumption of hookahs. After Friday, the police raided many places in the city on Saturday night as well. The manager of the hookah bar has been arrested.

Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor Firhad Hakim announced that hookah bars have been banned in Kolkata. Licenses of hookah bars will be canceled. Those who consume hookah were warned. According to Kolkata Police sources, a hookah bar named 'Hookah Cafe' in the Kasba Rajdanga area of ​​South Kolkata was raided on Saturday midnight. Their hookah was being sold indiscriminately even after the administration's ban. Customers could be seen smoking hookah at several tables in the cafe. Most of these youths are being told. 

Biswajit Saha, the manager of the hookah parlor has been arrested. Four sets of hookah and quality tobacco were also seized. A suo motu case has also been registered at Kasba police station. Let us tell you that last Friday night the police raided hookah parlors in many elite areas of the city. In this raid team of Lalbazar, there were workers of the anti-riot squad and employees of the intelligence department. They raided several restaurants which were illegally open till midnight. Even after the ban, raids are going on for selling hookah. Many arrests have also been made in this campaign.
