South megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan starrer 'Acharya' is said to be one of the most awaited movies. Before the release of this movie, Ram Charan was seen in 'RRR', which has managed to do record-breaking business at the box office. After the success of 'RRR', the audience has high expectations from Ram Charan's 'Acharya'. However, the movie flopped and proved to be a huge loss to the filmmakers and distributors. Since the movie failed, many distributors have been demanding their money back from the producers.  

Reports say that the moviemakers have already refunded a large part of the amount to the distributors and exhibitors. It is now believed that the movie's director Koratala Siva has returned Rs 33 crore to the distributors as part of the final statement. The budget of 'Acharya' was around Rs 140 crore but it managed to collect only Rs 40 crore at the box office. Apparently, the movie has lost over Rs 84 crore. It is being said that Chiranjeevi had taken Rs 50 crore for the film while Ram Charan took Rs 10 crore. Pooja Hegde and Sonu Sood have also been a part of the film. Pooja Hegde's recent releases, the films Beast' and 'Radhe Shyam' have also not done well at the box office.

The makers are busy releasing the film on OTT as soon as possible. Media reports say that now Jr NTR has joined hands with 'Acharya' director Koratala Siva for NTR 30. According to reports, the actor is currently reading the script and he does not want to leave any stone unturned in it. He had earlier worked with the director in 'Janta Garage'.
