Kothagudem: By reaching out to sick persons suffering from dengue and malaria cases in Agency mandal of Cherla on Sunday, Agency Police Department arranged free medicines and treatment to them. The agency police department, once again proved to be 'friendly police' by reaching out to the needy. The police, during their operation, noticed that 35 families of tribal people were suffering from fever in Kudhunur village of Cherla mandal. They were grappling with the lack of health facilities in the villages.

Circle Inspector Ashok and SI Raj Verma immediately arranged special health camps for the sick tribals and got them treated. Health workers conducted tests for 45 persons, it was learned. Cases of dengue and malaria were detected and free medicines were given to sick persons. The police also distributed vegetables and fruits to them. Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt appreciated the CI, SI and other staff for providing timely service to the tribal people.

He said that he has come to know that several militia members, sympathizers and dalam members of the banned Maoist party have contracted the viral fever. He was being prevented by the Maoists from coming out of the forest for treatment. The SP appealed to the sick to take the help of the police to save their lives. He criticized the Maoists for exploiting the tribals and putting their lives in danger by withholding their treatment.
