Kolkata: State CM Mamata Banerjee has won an avalanche victory in the Assembly by-election to Bhowanipore seat in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata has defeated her nearest rival Priyanka Tibrewal of BJP by 58,000 votes. After suffering a setback at the hands of Chief Minister Mamata, BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal said that she herself is the man of the match and she is still full of life and will continue the fight.

At the same time, Tibrewal said, "Yesterday, I heard a political analyst said that when a match takes place, a team wins, one is defeated. Suppose it was a match. The player of the winning team does not necessarily have to be a man of the match. So I have proved that I am the Man of the Match of this game, I have gone to that stronghold and contested the elections, with all my courage and 25,000 votes.''

Let me tell you that after this victory, it has now been decided that Mamata Banerjee will continue to be the CM of Bengal. It is being reported that this election was not just a battle to save the chair, a message was also to be given through this election that Mamata was entering national politics and this intention should have been strengthened through victory from Bhowanipore. Mamata Banerjee had held 8 to 10 public meetings in Bhowanipore in this by-election. Mamata's minister and TMC leaders also appeared to be shifting hard for the seat.
