New Delhi: The 1290 Super Adventure R, the flagship model of Austrian bike maker KTM's ADV line, has been introduced for the world markets with a suggested retail price of $20,299 (roughly Rs. 16.8 lakhs).

The ADV's ergonomics have been improved over the previous model, and it now gets radar-based electronics rider aids. Power for the litre-class adventure tourer comes from the standard model's mighty 1,301cc V-twin engine.

KTM is considered one of the most loved bike manufacturers in the world, given its many victories in off-road racing competitions such as the Dakar Cross-Country Rally, Motocross World Championship and the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship.

Off-roading enthusiasts looking for a high-tech motorcycle often start with the 1290 Adventure as it is one of the most popular models in the litre-class segment.

A muscular 23-litre 3-part fuel tank, an upright windscreen, a step-up seat, a bash plate, a side-slung exhaust, and a sleek LED taillamp are some of the features that give the 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R a Generally aggressive silhouette.
The ADV's wire-spoke wheels are equipped with a 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster.

The 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R is powered by a 1,301cc, liquid-cooled, 75-degree V-twin engine. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with PASC slipper clutch. The max output of the mill is 158 horsepower and 138 Nm of max torque.

The 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R features disc brakes on both front and rear wheels, cornering ABS, radar-based adaptive cruise control, multi-mode traction control and riding modes specially designed for off-road use.

48mm "WP XPLOR" inverted forks at the front and a "WP XPLOR" mono-shock unit handle the suspension duties at the rear.

The 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R is priced at $20,299 (roughly Rs. 16.8 lakh) in the US, which does not include the freight cost of $655. By early 2023, the deliveries of the flagship ADV are expected to begin.
