NEW YORK: Indian lawyer Harish Salve has been praised on social media after Pakistan's defeat in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). While Pakistan changed two lawyers into the ICJ, Salve single-handedly hit both and succeeded in stopping Jadhav's execution. More importantly, the country's eminent lawyer Harish Salve took only one rupee as a fee to fight Jadhav's case in an international court.

Pakistan, on the other hand, gave more than Rs 20 crore to its lawyer to prove Kulbhushan Jadhav of Indian origin as a spy. Salve laid the foundation of the Jadhav case in the ICJ for violating the Vienna Convention. Salve's arguments not only proved that Pakistan had violated the Vienna Convention by not giving Jadhav counsellor access but also managed to stop the execution of an Indian national.

Salve also succeeded in proving Jadhav as an Indian citizen through his arguments. Salve's arguments were seen to have help Pakistan's Wakley Khavar Qureshi. It was because of Salve's arguments that the ICJ decided 15-1 in favour of India. He made several arguments to expose Pakistan's lies, saying that Pakistan had flouted international and basic laws.
