Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been phenomenal since their arrival in India's limited overs squad. The two have not just replaced senior duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, but there have been talks over them being used in the longer format too. Kuldeep Yadav, who was one of the best performers for team India in their 5-1 ODI series triumph against mighty South Africa, addressed comparisons between his pairing with Chahal and that of Ashwin-Jadeja's.

The Chinaman, despite his remarkable success in the recent times, said that he doesn't believe to have reached the same heights as that of Ashwin and Jadeja. In an interview with Jagran, Kuldeep was asked whether his and Chahal's pairing can challenge Jadeja and Ashwin as a pair. The Chinaman, however, quashed all talks of the rivalry between the two spin-bowling duos, saying he and Chahal have a long way to go.

The left-armer's tally is also the most ever by a spinner in any series in South Africa surpassing 14 scalps by Muttiah Muralitharan in the tri-series involving the home side and Pakistan in 1998. After completing 30 scalps in just 5 matches of the ODI series, the duo had also surpassed previous best tally of 27 by Indian spinners in a 6-match ODI series, which was achieved in against England at home in 2006.

The only other occasion where Indian spinners took more wickets in a fixture was in the World Cup of 2011, a total of 34 scalps. Kuldeep bagged a total of 17 wickets in the Rainbow Nation while Chahal had 16 to his name in the 6-match ODI series, ending with a total of 33 as a pair.
