ASIA CUP 2023 FINAL: In an exciting encounter at the 2023 Asia Cup, India squared off against Sri Lanka, and Kuldeep Yadav, the eminent Indian spinner, shared insights into his remarkable resurgence in the 50-over format following a period of injury. Kuldeep's triumphant return was characterized by his adeptness in introducing a diverse array of variations and deftly altering the angles of his deliveries, factors that have substantially contributed to his recent success.

His stellar performance included a five-wicket haul against the formidable Babar Azam-led side, followed by another impressive four-wicket feat against Sri Lanka. Notably, these accomplishments not only marked his attainment of the significant milestone of 150 wickets in this format but also earned him the coveted Man of the Series award at the prestigious continental tournament.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Kuldeep expressed his elation with his bowling form over the past year and a half, stating, "The last year and a half has been amazing. I'm enjoying my bowling." Contrasting the constraints of T20 cricket, where experimentation is limited, the ODI format has granted Kuldeep the opportunity to hone his skills as a left-arm wrist spinner.

"In T20 format, the focus is primarily on lengths, whereas in ODIs, you can vary your length and explore a wider array of strategies. I've been diligently working on enhancing my speed and mastering varied angles under the guidance of my coach following my injury," he elaborated.

Kuldeep also candidly admitted to adopting a more aggressive approach towards securing wickets, affirming, "I have become more aggressive, and the ball is coming out of my hand very nicely." Furthermore, he praised the pacers for their stellar performances, acknowledging that when fast bowlers excel, it considerably eases the task for spinners.

In another corner of the post-match discussions, Ishan Kishan, who showcased consistent prowess as a middle-order batsman throughout the tournament, shared his perspective. He expressed contentment at being entrusted with the role of opening the innings alongside Shubman Gill in the summit clash. However, Ishan remained mindful of the responsibilities he may undertake in upcoming matches.

"I've always had a preference for opening the innings. With the modest total on the board, it was a resounding 'yes' when asked to open, from my side. There isn't much one can do with only 50 runs to defend, but I'm grateful to the skipper for the opportunity," Ishan Kishan remarked during the post-match press conference.
