Among the many memorable and odd characters of Kumbhalangi Nights, the novelty of the plot is being added by the Afro-American tourist Nile. Also New York-based Jasmine Mativier, who gave life to Nayla, is now venturing into direction and is currently working under her direction which will be in Creole and English languages. With this, Jasmine says, Kumbalangi Nights are a big inspiration behind coming in the direction. “It was wonderful to travel to a new country and connect with the people of Kerala. I saw how hard the Kumbhalangi Nights team worked, especially by director Madhu C Narayanan.

Also her energy pushed me in this direction, ”she says, adding that her film is a message to take other women under control. “By directing the film, I want to show how women of color are taking charge of their dreams and aspirations, and transforming their ideas into a real vision. We have to tell our own stories to hear our thoughts and voices through cinema.

The film itself will be an American-Asian film, written by model-actress friend Lilod Balon-Malaquis. She says, "The cinematography of the film will be of celebrity cinematographer Leonardo Schober, who has now signed a Malayalam film as well. Also Jasmine said that she is trying to create an organization of work that is motivated by "truth, honesty and will". “I am trying to learn what it means to be a director. After Kumbhalangi Nights, now that I know what I want to see in my film, I am super excited. I will soon be working in another Malayalam film.
