Today on May 1, the whole world celebrates International Labor Day. For the last 132 years, this day is celebrated for the workers. It is making a direct impact in our and your life. Know how? Even today, if your working hours are fixed in your offices, then the labor movement is also responsible for this. History is the witness that on this day the precarious working hours of the laborers all over the world were changed to 8 hours.

In fact, in the year 1877, a movement was also started by the laborers regarding their demand to fix their working hours. After this, on May 1, 1886, lakhs of laborers all over America united and went on strike regarding this issue. In this strike, 3 lakh 80 thousand workers of about 11 thousand factories were also present.

After this strike, in the second meeting of an International General Assembly held in Paris in 1889, a resolution was passed keeping in mind the French Revolution. In this proposal, the matter of celebrating International Labor Day has also been accepted. As soon as this proposal is passed, permission has been given to work only for 8 hours in America. Along with the duration and days of work, questions have also been raised many times regarding remuneration in labor movements. It is because of these movements that the minimum wages are fixed in the states of the country. But even today the labor organizations raise the question that the laborers working in big industrial units, private institutions etc. do not get wages according to inflation.
