NEW DELHI: Union Labour Minister Bhupender Yadav today, April 24, launched new features in the eShram portal, which will strengthen the utility of the portal and facilitate ease of registration for unorganised workers. The new features consist of attaching the family details of migrant workers to the eShram portal.  This feature will help in offering children's education and women-centric schemes to workers who have migrated with their families to big cities.

A new feature for sharing data of construction workers is also registering on eShram with the concerned building and other construction workers'  welfare board, has been added to ensure registration of eShram construction workers with the respective building and other construction workers' board and access to the schemes implied for them.

The eShram registered workers can connect with employment opportunities, apprenticeship, skilling,  pension scheme, digital skilling and states' schemes through the eShram portal. The Minister also formally unveiled the data sharing portal for sharing eShram data with the states.

The data sharing portal will permit sharing of eShram beneficiaries' data with the respective states in a secure manner for targeted implementation of social security or welfare schemes for the unorganised workers registered on eShram portal.

Of late, the Ministry initiated mapping of different schemes data with eShram data so as to identify the eShram registrants who have not yet received the benefits of these schemes.  This data is also being shared with States and Union territories s based on which, the respective states can identify unorganised workers who have not yet received benefit of the social welfare/security schemes and provide schemes’ benefit to them, on priority.
