Leh: The ongoing border impasse between India and China has decreased. But BJP MP from Ladakh Jamyang Tshering Namgyal has claimed that India has not let China take even an inch of land since Narendra Modi came to power in 2014. Talking to a private news channel, Namgyal stressed the need for the development of infrastructure in the border areas from India. Also said that this is the only way to strengthen security. He said that people living near the border do not want a confrontation with any neighbouring country, but they will stand with the country as needed.

On former Congress president Rahul Gandhi accusing the government of maintaining silence over the issue, Namgyal has said, "What can I say in relation to a leader who tore away the applicable ordinance of his government? Spreading fear is a political issue for him. I just want Rahul Gandhi to try to understand the border dispute here, I have engaged with him on Twitter, where I have given a list of where China has occupied the land during UPA's term."

MP Namgyal further said that "I have visited all these areas and I have photographic proof. Ever since the Narendra Modi government came to power in 2014, since then we have not let China take even an inch of land.” According to the BJP MP from Ladakh, if India wants to strengthen its border, the government will have to focus on the development of infrastructure. He said, "Until the civilian population is not encouraged, our border security cannot be strengthened."
