The Badminton Association of India has announced a new team for the Asia Team Championships. While selecting this team, BAI has also given a lot of importance to the performance of the two all-India ranking tournaments played in Chennai and Hyderabad last month. In both these tournaments, only those players who have scored the most points have been given a place in the team. Malvika in women and Lakshya Sen in men have also been given the command of the team.

Badminton Association of India (BFI) secretary Ajay Singhania said, "We have been engaged in selecting the team on the basis of the performance of the domestic tournament for some time. However, the players in the top-25 of the badminton rankings are going to get a place directly in the team. However, after most of the senior players are infected and injured by Covid, we have a good chance of giving a chance of bench strength. Young players should leave their mark in this tournament.

According to media reports, the last edition of this competition started in Manila, Philippines, where the men's team has also won a bronze medal, while the women's team did not participate in the competition due to the Corona pandemic. Most of the players were not ready to travel at this time.
