New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has announced the date for the presidential election. Voting for this is going to be held on July 18. However, amidst all this, Lalu Prasad Yadav of Bihar is going into the contest to become the President. Lalu is all set to reach Delhi on June 15 to file his nomination. Here we are not talking about the former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav, but of Lalu Prasad Yadav, a resident of Saran.
According to some media reports, Lalu Prasad Yadav, a resident of Rampur in Madhora Nagar Panchayat area of Saran district, had also filed his nomination for the 2017 presidential election. However, his nomination was cancelled as the strength of the numbers was not met. This time Lalu Prasad Yadav is in full preparation. He has also booked a flight ticket to go to Delhi on June 15. Apart from the presidential election, they have also tried their luck in the Nagar Panchayat.
However, it's a different matter that they haven't had success to this day. In 2014, Lalu contested the Lok Sabha elections and lost. In 2015, he also tried his luck in the assembly elections. He also wanted to try his luck in the electoral contest of Saran Graduate Constituency in 2016, Saran Teachers' Constituency in 2020 and Saran Three-Tier Panchayat Constituency in 2022 of the Legislative Council, but lost each time.
