Lucknow: In a recent development regarding a land dispute incident in Fatehpur village near Rudrapur, Uttar Pradesh, the police have taken action by arresting four women, including the deceased's mother, Jabbeen. This case revolves around the tragic deaths of six family members, along with a former district Panchayat member, stemming from an ongoing land dispute. The individuals apprehended include the daughters of Karamchandra Manjhi, Basanti Devi, and Champa Devi, as well as his wife, Thakur Mani. Thakur Mani has been at the center of the dispute among the three women. Furthermore, apart from the deceased's father, Mohammad Hakim, the authorities have also charged the deceased's younger brother and sister in connection with the dispute.

It is worth noting that the incident, which took place a few weeks ago, attracted significant attention after it escalated into a violent confrontation over the land dispute. In response to the situation in Deoria on October 2, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued strict directives, ordering immediate action. As a result, the Sub-District Magistrate and Area Officer of Rudrapur were promptly suspended, and over 12 officers were dismissed from their positions due to their involvement in the case.

In another unfortunate land dispute-related incident, a 32-year-old man named Rinku Verma was fatally shot by his cousin, Hariom, in an intoxicated state. The incident unfolded on Thursday night in Gaurchak village, located in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district. Hariom, aged 42, used his licensed firearm in the assault, according to the statement provided by Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges associated with land disputes and the urgency of addressing these issues in the region.
