He has tweeted: "I just came to know that very talented classical singer Padma Bhushan, Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Pandit Rajan Mishra Ji has passed away. I was very sad to hear this. May God give peace to his soul. My thoughts are with his family". PM Modi has also tweeted and condoled the death of Rajan Mishra.

He said, "Deeply saddened by the passing away of Pandit Rajan Mishraji, who made an indelible mark in the world of classical singing. Mishraji's departure from the Banaras Gharana is an irreparable loss to the art and music world. My thoughts are with his family and fans in this hour of mourning. Om Shanti!". Well, you all must know that Pandit Rajan Mishra had enjoyed a musical journey with his younger brother Pandit Sajan Mishra. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the field of art by the Government of India in 2007.
