Covid crisis: Lata Mangeshkar donates 7L for relief work

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar has donated 7 lakh rupees to Maharashtra Chief Minister’s relief fund. As the 91-year-old legendary singer became the newest member to join the fight against Covid. 

Directorate General of Information and Public Relations of the Maharashtra government on Saturday shared the news update on Twitter. The tweet read “Bharat Ratna @mangeshkarlata has donated Rs 7 lakh to #CMrelieffund #COVID19 Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has thanked her for the help.” DGIPR said the CM has also appealed to the people of the state to contribute in the fight against coronavirus. For the third week, India has reported over 3 lakh Covid-19 and over two thousand casualties due to coronavirus complications as the situation in the country turns severe. Several countries, big brands, corporate bosses and celebrities have come forward to help with medical sector of India. Earlier the international fame Priyanka Chopra donated money to it’s nation and also urged the global community to help India.

Maharashtra on Friday reported 62,919 fresh Covid-19 cases raising the overall tally to 46,02,472.
