The Kia Seltos is going to be launched in the compact SUV segment in the Indian market on August 22. We've already shared information about Kia Seltos with you. However, MG Hector was also launched last month in this segment, which is considered to be a very high-tech car with connected features in the market. Today we compare Kia Seltos with MG Hector based on specifications in our report.

The look of both the cars looks lovely and the exterior features stylish elements. Both Kia Seltos and MG Hector have LED headlamps. However, the front of the Kia Seltos can certainly draw your attention as it features a signature Tiger Nose grill. Hector, on the other hand, has a Honeycomb Pattern Grill. Both the SUVs come with a host of features such as sporty alloy wheels, roof rails and LED taillamps.

The Interior and Cabin Feature Kia Seltos SUV features a variety of segment first features such as LED sound mood lights and ambient lighting with 8 mono colour themes and 6 multicolour themes, a smart 8.0-inch head-up display and 2 step degree relining function on rear seats.

The SUV also features a flat-bottom steering wheel and a 60:40 split rear seat with adjustable centre headrest. The most attractive one is the advanced 7.0-inch colour display for the instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with Bose's 8-speaker setup sound system in addition to Android Auto and Apple Carplay as a system feature.

In addition, the Seltos features 37 features including the industry-first smart pure air purifier and the connected car Tech UVO. This will come with a three-year subscription. It features geofencing, AI-based voice commands, remote access, and more. In terms of safety, Kia Seltos features VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Speed Control), Front and Rear Parking Sensors, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), BAS (Break Force Assist System) and HAC (Hill-Start Assist Control). The SUV also comes with 6 airbags with ISO-Fix child seat anchors and a 360-degree camera.

MG Hector also comes with three powertrain options – 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre hybrid and 2.0-litre diesel. The turbocharged petrol engine produces 141bhp and 250Nm of torque. The hybrid also has the same motor and comes with a belt starter generator, a 48V battery and regenerative braking.

The Petrol Hybrid comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Apart from the 6-speed manual, petrol also comes with a DCT automatic transmission. Mg Hector's diesel model is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged oil burner engine with fiat. which generates 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The engine comes with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox.
