In line with the deployment of 5G services, telecom jobs have shown a positive trend, with hiring up by 13% as major players launch their digital services in various cities, expand their data centre capabilities, and hire for specialised roles. In addition, the Monster Employment Index noted that certain industries have experienced significant job growth due to holiday demand, including apparel, textiles, and jewellery (up 11%), production and manufacturing (up 5%), and retail (up 5%).

As a result of the Index's observation of a positive trend for top management positions, strong leadership is now more important than ever amid global downturns and Indian inflation worries.

According to the Index, Ahmedabad had the highest demand for new hires, with a 10% increase in hiring. Progressive trends have also been observed in cities like Coimbatore (up 7%) and Jaipur (up 1%), which have seen hiring for the holiday season increase across tier 2 cities and the government focus shift away from metropolitan hubs for operations. In terms of e-recruitment activity among metro areas, Mumbai saw growth of 8%, Hyderabad of 2%, and Delhi-NCR of 0%.

With no travel restrictions in India, employment in the hospitality and travel industries has steadily increased by 8% in September. The demand for highly qualified accountants and finance professionals has increased over the past few months even though the Indian white-collar labour market is still unreliable due to the way that businesses are utilising emerging technology in their decision-making. Despite rising attrition and India Inc.'s search for qualified talent, demand for HR professionals (up 9%) also remained steady.

The demand for marketing and communications-related jobs has decreased (down 5%), which is a depressing trend for those working in the marketing industry (down 6 per cent). J
